Imagine Art Studio

We had a playdate with the playgroup at the Imagine Art Studio this morning. It is an art studio geared specifically for children. The kids made a Valentine's craft.
Sierra worked hard on her hearts and took her coloring very seriously. She still has a little trouble cutting. One of the teachers worked with her on this and she did most of the cutting by herself. Her finished product turned out pretty good! She says she made it for her daddy.

Long Day

We had a very busy day today. I am tired so here is a little clip from last summer. And please excuse my mismatched pregnancy pajamas...

Picky Picky

So after deciding to renew my efforts to get Sierra interested in eating new foods I bought a cookbook filled with kid friendly, healthful recipes. Sierra and I sat down and went through the book together. She pointed out the dishes she would like to try. One of the first recipes she picked was blueberry muffins. After school we gathered the ingredients and started mixing...

I didn't have cupcake liners so we decided to make a blueberry loaf instead. It didn't turn out bad but it would have been a lot tastier had we used sugar and
butter instead of honey and buttermilk!
In Sierra's defense she has been eating a lot better since she started school. Her tastes are all over the place though. She loves baked chicken and all fruits. She doesn't like green beans except the ones they cook at school. She won't touch potatoes (or french fries) but she loves Frosted Mini Wheats. I was hoping that being involved in the cooking and baking would peak her interest in trying new foods. No such luck - she wouldn't touch it. I feel like this is major payback for being such a picky eater my entire life.

Sierra and Harley

These two have never been friends. Harley has always been jealous of Sierra. She has avoided, hissed, and swatted at her since the beginning. In fact, as soon as my stomach started getting big during my pregnancy Harley stopped coming around. So imagine my surprise when I look over last night and see this...

I guess they called a truce.

Baby Gage

Ok, here is my video uplift attempt:

Mondays

6:00 came too early this morning. Gage was screaming, Delilah was whining to go out, Sierra did not want to get up and the cat was slinking around and looking up to no good. On top of all this I had a horrible allergy induced sinus pressure headache but coffee and Tylenol work wonders and after putting the dog out and bribing Sierra to get up and get dressed things calmed down.
So while I should be studying I have been trying to figure out the digital camcorder we bought last summer. I think we used it a few times and after we returned from DisneyWorld we put it up and that was it... So, I'm going to try to post a video or two and see how it works. Still trying to figure all of this out.

9 months and counting

T is now in Iraq. I have been wanting to get a blog going for some time now and I guess there is no time like the present. Hopefully he will be able to access it and keep up with what is going on at home. Now if I can just figure out how to get it all set up.

Yesterday we had a very busy day. I took Sierra to Barnes and Noble for storytime. They read "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." The mouse from the story was there and they handed out chocolate chip cookies for the kids. Sierra loved it and ran on stage to give mouse a big hug. Later in the day we went with Vanessa to her friends house and I learned how to make Tamales. The kids all played and had a good time. Little Gage just doesn't sleep well unless he is at home so we did not stay very long. Today we are staying in. Maybe we will even stay in our pajamas. Sierra and I are going to watch Underdog.

Hoping to hear from T sometime today.
